Fame School

At least being popular in school does not bring annoyment to the highest degree and if your fame backfires on you, you can still be saved because after high school you'll be moving to college or whatever, while being a celebrity...it's hard to get over it. What do you think?

Do you get any real bux from your school "celebrity-ness?" Thats small potatoes. The luxuries and vacations, cars, great work, famous friends, houses,And megabux are so worth the peon paparazzi. They arent in your face 24/7. You're not thinking of all the perks of real celebrity. Have you ever heard of an actor leaving acting behind because he couldnt deal with paparazzi??

Okay, my dance teacher at my school told me that the school in fame is an ACTUAL school. it lies here in Manhattan. i would like to know everything about it! she as well said its hard to get into? can you supply me with every detail possible? Please?

The school in Fame is LGuardia Arts (Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School.) You have to be a resident of NYC to attend and you must audition to get in. It is totally not one bit like the FAME movie that was recently released. Although the location had moved it is closer in reality to the first FAME film.

There is a short film that was made more than 10 years ago called "the Magic of LaGuardia". It gives you a little taste of what the school is like. I will say the current dance department is a lot stronger than the one in this film. You can find the film on the link I gave you.

I will be visiting New York in July 2010. While preparing my trip, I came across some movie locations. I grew up during the 80's, so "Fame" reminds me a lot of my childhood. Can someone tell me where the building, used for the exterior shots of the school of arts , is located?

The exteriors were filmed at the High School Of Performing Arts (the real life school Fame was based on). It's located at 120 West 46th Street.

I heard that the students there are crazy and do crazy things. I also heard that there a few gangs, well not really gangs, i dont really know.

My daughter will be attending there next year. I sincerely doubt that there are "gangs".

I also doubt that the kids there do any more or less crazy things than any other high school kids do.

However, for kids interested in the arts, this is certainly a fantastic place to go to high school!
