Gardena High School was on lockdown Tuesday and a suspected gunman is in custody after a shooting on campus that left two students wounded.
Isnt there a bus that gets on the 110 freeway then hops on the 91 && take me to gardena. Im think im correct.
So umm wat is that bus call. [ the bus number ] && all of that
where would i be able to find the information..
&& if yu know any other way to get from manchester and vermont to Gardena High school please tell me.
School starts in a couple of days && im going to need to know.
Please && thank yu. =]] oh yea. [Urgent.!]
From the southwest corner of Manchester & Vermont board Metro Express bus #442 and get off at the Harbor/Slauson Terminal.
Then board Metro Express bus #444 and exit at Artesia & Normandy to Gardena High School.
The trip takes roughly 30 minutes. You can verify this info at "www.socaltransit.org"
because i want to go to gardena high school and i gotta catch the bus or does the gardena bus line run down normandie and stops at 182nd I REALLY NEED TO KNOW THIS BECAUSE IM WANA START SCHOOL THERE
Gardena Bus lines has regular serrvice along Normandie stopping at 182nd on their route #2. Also they provide school trippers (extra routes) just for area schools from several locations. For these extra runs check with Gardena Bus Lines directly. Lastly Torrance Transit serves that area as well. depending upon where you are starting from. Good Luck!
I'm looking to transfer really soon but I want to go to a good high school. Public or charter. I live in the gardena area but i'm willing to travel.
Thank you. =)
Here is a listing of LAUSD schools by academic ranking:
http://www.greatschools.net/california/l os-angeles/Los-Angeles-Unified-School-Di strict/schools/?lc=h&pageSize=25& ;sortColumn=ratingsHeader&sortDirect ion=desc&p=1&sortSelection=GS+Ra ting
But remember, just because a school doesn't have a high academic ranking doesn't mean that you can't do well in it. It's really up to the student in many high schools. If you take AP or Honors classes and get involved in certain activities, you will go far. It doesn't matter what the school is doing as a whole, just what you are doing. If you go to a school that is far from your home, it will be hard to get all your work done, with all the travel time. And if you go to a school with top academics, there will be a lot of homework!
Sometimes you can get a permit to attend in another school district if your parents work for the district, work in the district or work for the city. But if you're thinking for Sept 09, look into any type of changes quickly.
Good luck!

San Pedro teacher gets shout-out from USC student site High School ...
Gebhart has a charismatic persona that endears him with his students. He is bespectacled and balding, but with the sporty physique of an athlete that is vaguely reminiscent of blogger Andrew Sullivan. He has an assortment of tattoos on his arms, including one that his students particularly like which reads, “knowledge is power.”
His presence – in the hallways, in the classroom, in the community – is gregarious and compassionate. Between classes, he stands in the hallways and cracks jokes with students as they make their way to class. On Friday nights, he brings his wife and kids to the high school football games. For him, teaching is a mission that goes beyond just being an instructor in the classroom. Instead, he tries to be a positive role model to his students, demonstrating through his own life the importance of being a well-rounded individual.
