I'm currently a teacher in Las Vegas, and am looking into going into cosmetology school p/t. Teachers here don't make a lot of money and hair styling is something I've always wanted to do. I just don't know what school is not so pricey and is a great school to learn from. Can anybody give me some info?
Thanks!

Answering machine all schools should have.
My present school only has two professor and they are stretched thin trying to teach the required classes, and one of them isn't all that great of a professor and seems to not willing to help very much. I am willing to go anywhere that I need to I would like to get a Phd. in computer science. Any suggestion would be helpful.
Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, and MIT are probably the best (in no particular order).
I am thinking about studying law in Puerto Rico though I have been accepted to law schools elsewhere throughout the country. Is this advisable? Is this a great school?
Why the US should be considered
In the increasingly global legal market, lawyers in more and more specialties need to master more than one legal system. Doing an LLM abroad is one way to accomplish this. Doing so in America offers many advantages for a foreign lawyer, providing the opportunity to develop not only knowledge but also a strong contact base:so your best bet is american schools unless you want to stay in puerto rico and practice.
basically, why do people go to a great school early on as opposed to going to community college or somewhere perhaps less prestigious?
There may be a few good reasons to go the expensive 4-year college, but for the most part you are just as well off to go to a community college for the first two years. If money is not an issue then go ahead and start at a four-year school, but if you want to spend a LOT less, go to a c.c. or a cheaper school.
Many students don't even know what they want to major in until the end of their sophomore year, so they spend the first two years just getting their general education requirements out of the way.
If you do decide to start at at one school and then transfer to another, make sure the credits will transfer over. I disagree with the first answer saying it is hard to transfer credits, as I haven't seen anyone with that problem.
Good luck!!

I lurrrrrve UChicago. Now, this year I didn't even apply because I only have a 3.5 GPA, so it would basically be a waste of fifty dollars. So, I'm going to OSU (oregon state) come fall. Do I have a chance transferring next year if I do super well freshman year given my high school credentials? What if (this isn't true but) theoretically I had great activities? Is it even worth it? Any thoughts?
It will also come down to SAT scores as well but what I do suggest is transferring during your sophomore year at OSU (basically doing two years at OSU) because high school credentials because meaningless and they no longer look at high school GPA. SATs may still come into play though.

Manchester Matchmakers are linking up schools, with great results ...
Greater Manchester’s 10 councils bonded together schools from Oldham to Wigan in comparable groups, 11 for secondaries and 58 for primaries. Laid out in this format, data revealed anomalies and similarities clearly.
Ainscow [...] says: “We were looking at schools whose intake, size and other features had much in common, and seeing how one was doing well and another not. We were looking for the good things, naturally, and through this system, they were clear. It was a game-changer.”
The next step was what Ainscow calls “carefully brokered” school partnerships, with challenge staff such as Andrew Morley earning the nickname “matchmakers”. One of Morley’s marriages shows strikingly how assets and talents are now shared by schools that previously might have been on different planets…
