I hear Georgia School of Construction is a pretty good one. ATS I heard isnt all that great, but I don't know where to start looking for a decent school. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wow. Whatever happened to on-the-job training? My father was a crane operator and never went to school for it. I'm going to have to tell him there's such a thing nowadays.
That sounds awfully high to me. How much does a heavy equipment operator make now? You should do some research about it and see if it's really necessary.
I have a friend who would like me to find info on heavy equiptment operator schools in FL. I don't know where to begin. Any help would be great. Thanks from me and him.

I want to operate a forklift or bulldozer or something like that. If I have a GED can I drive a forklift? please provide details
To drive a forklift, you need to be eighteen and be trained by your employer on the hazards and techniques of operating in your workplace. You do not need any additional certification or training beyond that.
The OSHA Forklift Page is here: http://www.osha.gov/SLTC/poweredindustri altrucks/standards.html.
Some companies also have training programs you can buy for your employer to use. This one has a forklift training program. http://www.affordablesafetytraining.com/
