Answer number two was sort of right. Except for nobody was burned at the stake in Salem. They were hung, except for one man who was pressed to death with stones and a few folks who died in prison awaiting trial. Projecting one's own fears and insecurities onto another.
In the witch trials, the whole village ganged up on a minority of people for no good reason - those accused were just different or not as well liked among the rest of the community for whatever reason. Those who were singled out amd accised were basically humiliated and tortured in public. They weren't really "witches" causing anyone harm.
High School bullies tend to have "followers", and the bully and his/her followers gang up on one particular person who is a little different, or just not as well-liked (popular) among the rest of his/her school peers. And they humiliate and torture this person. And the person being bullied has done nothing to deserve all the hostility and harassment they are receiving. Only instead of actually executing their victims...they are causing this person so much grief and messing with their psyche so badly that often the person being bullied will be led to believe that killing themselves is the only way to escape the constant torture and humiliation.
And what with bullies and their followers being able to harass their victims on the internet now too - this is becoming a bigger problem that needs to be taken more seriously by parents and schools. Bullying is NOT harmless fun. It causes a lot of lasting psychological damage to both the victim, and those doing the bullying if they are allowed to get away with it, setting into their own minds that it's okay to treat other people poorly.
From my current experience in high school, I notice that there is alot of bullying. I do it myself sometimes mainly to impress the girls I like to make them laugh (I know, it sounds really pathetic). What are the differences in boy's bullying and girl's bullying?
Boys bullying usually has something to do with physically hurting someone like punching or kicking. Girls bullying is more verbal than physical, like talking bad things about them or calling them mean names and things like that.

Is it worse then junior high, and how bad is it, how many (%) of people are bullied,
i have not been bullied yet, I'm in junior high, but worried about bullying in high school?
It depends on the school. I found in both the Jr. High and High school that I attended that there wasn't much difference, since the bullying was severe in both schools, even though I attended two separate schools. I was bullied because I had my own challenges, however, I was not in "Special Education" or anything like that. I was in all academic courses, and am even going to University now and plan on majoring in Sociology. Also, another reason that I was bullied badly in high school even though I moved from the area that had the Jr. High that I attended was because a bully from my Jr. High moved and started attending the same high school that I attended, and he went and told people the name that I was called in Jr. High and got people to call me that name in the new school that I attended, and despite the fact that people are supposed to be mature in High school and that bullying should not be very active/almost non-existent, it still seemed to exist very much in the high school that I attended. I was not the only person that was bullied. I knew a couple of friends that were bullied as well, although they were not bullied as badly as I was, since they did not have people try to kill them(I had someone actually grab my coat and light it on fire, thank god I took it off quickly and throw it to the ground), severely beat them up(I was once pushed to the ground and had this girl kick me in the face and break my glasses- and this was a girl I never really spoke to, also, just to clarify something, I was not the type to start fights or bully people, I only spoke to the people I truly knew and trusted, and I did not say something mean about something about someone behind their back, the most I would do is tell my friends what someone did to me. I know that this sounds like I am making myself seem like the victim but I'm not, I'm just giving the facts), or have a fake love letter written to them(the letter wasn't really a love letter at all- it made fun of me and called me down to dirt; for example, it said "I love your ugly curly hair"; there was worse said in the letter besides that, but that's just an example. Also, the day I received the letter, I pretended it was a nice letter, since I had a huge assignment to do and never had the time to go to the school administration to deal with it). Another thing, the school administration at both the Jr. High and High school did not do much about the bullying. For example, I was shoved down the stairs and broke my foot. The school administration would not do anything to the person who shoved me down the stairs; they would not even give them detention, even though I broke my foot and had to have a cast put on. The reason that I know that I was shoved on purpose and it was not an accident was because the person who did it said "haha the freak fell" when he pushed me and I fell down the stairs.
Like I said before, it depends on the school you attend, and the people that are there. You might be lucky and attend a school that does not have much bullying, or the people that bully will leave you alone.
If there is bullying in your school, hopefully the administration at your school will not be like the administration at the schools I attended; hopefully they will actually do something about any bullying incident when it happens.
yes i have seen one or two? anyway the one i remember is yoyo girl cop (please dont be fooled by the title, the movie itself is so good) its about a girl who have only 72 hours to find who set up the website that encourage the kids to commit suicide anyway she met a girl who was bullied alot and she helped her. there's more to this story but see it for yourself ^^.
another movie ummm i quess maybe wishing stairs? its not about bullying but part of the story is bullying. the bullying part of the story is a girl who is fat and everybody isolated her and bullied her but later, she became a murder (i dont really remember how she became a murder but i think it was because of that girl's spirit possessed her.)
Another movie i remember, its not about bullying but somewhat it gives you almost simiular feeling, its called lovesick dead (AKA love ghost) about a curse says that those girls who met the handsome boy of tsujhara, commited suicide at the very spot where she met the boy.
anyway hope u enjoy ^^

High School Bullying – How to Avoid It
Bullying is not uncommon in high school with. Kids who are small, skinny, short or fat are usually the target of bullying. If you become a victim of bullying, there are some factors which you need to bear in mind. Among these is the fact that most bullying take place because bullies are confident with their assumption that you don’t have the guts to fight back. Bullies, in fact, are cowardly that’s why they prefer to pick on weak targets.
So, if you become a victim of bullying, you can do a couple of things to prevent this from happening.
Listed below are your choices to fight school bullying:
Inform your teacher. Though this might seem like a sound anti bullying advice, there’s not a lot that your teacher can do to stop the bullies and protect you. However, no matter how much they want to stop bullying altogether, most schools have a policy which prevents the teacher to touch the school bullies; the only thing they can do is reprimand the bully not to hit you again. This doesn’t seem like a great help to you when the bullies keep on pushing you around. In this case, you have to learn to stand for yourself to protect yourself from bullying.
