I think they should get to keep their scholarship. Not be punished for choosing GED.Those who get their GED are just as smart as those who finish high school. My child lost their full scholarship for choosing to get a GED over a high school (GED scores are high) diploma. Isnt' this discrimination?
1] should have checked the rules for accepting the scholarship
2] colleges have admission criteria - and they almost always include GRADUATING high school. They can esatablish any criteria they want, as long as it is not discriminating against anything illegal. [ sex, race, religion, ethnicity, etc. ]
3] look up the admission requirements to school involved, and whatever he/she signed to accept the scholarship - or maybe you could appeal to the scholarship committee.
What's the value of a high school diploma? People with high school diplomas earn an average of $280000 more over the course of their work life.
I mean is it while you get vocational training or is it separate? Do you go to a regular high school for it? An whats the actual diploma like, is it like a normal high school diploma or is it kinda different?
Information is below.

I am currently taking high school courses through distance learning to receive my high school diploma. Some people have suggested for me to take the GED because sometimes I have difficulty studying from home. Ultimately, I would want to continue on with my courses. But I am wondering, what is the difference between the two? Will having a high school diploma guarantee better admissions in college and a better job?
A high school diploma basically means you have completed the required courses at an accredited high school. A GED means you took a test demonstrating a basic proficiency in high school level courses. In most cases a GED should be just as good as a diploma. However, if you want to get into a competitive university you should probably contact the admissions office at the school to see if that would hurt your chances. I'm guessing that a GED with a high enough SAT or ACT score would probably be fine.
In the real world, I think there is a bit of a bad stigma attached to a GED. In general, I think many people see that you got a GED and assume you couldn't hack it in a normal high school.
Either way, once you have a job or two and/or start going to college, most people won't really look twice at what you did in high school.
FOR KAY:
I agree that a college degree is important, but having a college degree is no guarantee of a good income just as not having a college degree does not preclude you from earning a good income. I don't have a college degree (although I have about 110 college units) and I should earn close to $50,000 this year. I know there are many college grads that won't earn that much in a year.
I am getting my high school diploma online with PennFoster. I want to know it is accredited, I have searched and researched everywhere but I'm not quite satisfied. Is there anyone who KNOWS anything about it? Am I qualified to get a job with my high school diploma? Who accepts it? How do you know?
Yes they are accredited. There is a lot of info about online high schools, including accreditation here:

I hope to spend all four years of high school studying abroad, but I didn't know if I could get my high school diploma in Belgium.
After high school, I plan on attending college in the US, my home country, but I don't know where to start planning this.
I am also concerned about my SATs.
I was also wondering if I couldn't get a diploma from Belgium, could I get an online one or a homeschool one?
You can either study at an international school in Belgium that offers a US accredited diploma, or you can study in a Belgian school and get the credential that they offer. There should be no reason why a US college would not accept that for admission. They are likely to be very interested in your application since most American high school students will not have taken such a non-traditional route.

Multimillionaires Who Didn't Graduate High School
A good mind is a terrible thing to waste–on high school, perhaps. For a special crop of talented go-getters–entrepreneurs, artists, former U.S. surgeons general (you read that right)–jumping right into the wide world without first bagging a high school diploma was the best thing that ever happened to their bank accounts. Many leaped out of necessity. Others had encouragement from a mentor or at least from a supporter looking to piggyback on their success. All, however, had a vision and a demon drive to fulfill it. Even at a young age, that commitment and passion can overcome the hard months and years it can take to perfect a product and win over investors. For all the new entrepreneurship programs popping up at business schools, there will always be a slew of born entrepreneurs who prove that high school diplomas, let alone fancy graduate degrees, might well be barely worth the paper they’re printed on. Here are just a handful of examples. For a slide show of 25...
