High School Golf

I am going into high school next year and I hit in the low 90's, high 80's on 18 and low to mid 40's on 9. What is a good 9 hole score to make a high school golf team.

It really depends on the area. If you live in a big state like Texas or Florida you would get cut right away because their varsity teams are mostly 5 handicap golfers or better and their junior varsity can usually shoot in the high 70s and low 80s. If you work hard and improve your scores it won't matter because people that can shoot in the 70s will make a team. I live in New Hampshire and this past year I was 5th on my varsity team with an average of about 48 on 9 holes. (This is awful for me or anyone really.) I have only been playing golf for a little over a year and a half and we had a crappy team but this year my average is a 41 (83 on 18 holes) and I am second on the team. I live in a small state so there is not as many stellar golfers as in big states. I suggest you go and try out because if you make it, great. If you don't make it it isn't the end of the world because you tried and if you can break 90 you are already better than about half the golfers in the world. Good luck!

I'm on my high school golf team and I was wondering what a decent score at Warrior Golf Course is? I heard its a pretty tough course.

well i am a high school golfer, though i have never played at that course, i know that scores can range from mid 30's to upper 40's on nine holes. just practice, practice, and practice. also bring some kids on the team with you and see how you compete against them with your scores

I am thinking about play golf next year for my high school, but i didn't know what tees to practice playing from. And guess would help. Thanks

You have to by the normal wooden tees in order to practice for your High School golf team and any brand will work.

I'm 13 and I been playin golf for 2 years. I shoot and avrage of 96 in about 10 rounds. Do u think this is good enough to play high school golf?

It all depends on your high school golf team. I am planning on going to De La Salle, and to make the golf team there, you must be shooting in the 70s and occasionally in the very low eighties consistently (for the varsity). I'm also 13 years old, and have been playing for 2 years, and have a 9 handicap. I think that you probably have a chance if to make the jv team at your high school if it isn't too competitive, but you definitely should keep on practicing, and playing in tourneys to make sure that you are shooting in the 80s by high school
