Why is high school musical 1 and 2 so hyped. Sure great movie but why are we buying clothes, posters, and bed covers. And imitating the characters there not real. I'm not hatin i really like the movie but what is going on

I think it's because they didn't expect it to be this big...so they're kinda overdoing it without realizing what's actually going on...

They also may be trying to make it even more popular just to get more and more fans.

okay, i noticed this the first time i watched it, near the end of the movie troy and gabriella were breaking up, in the song ya kno and she gives him back the neclace? yea well after that troy is in his bed throwing a basketball up in the air, and it is a real playing basketball, but then when his dad walks in he puts it down for like a second, and then it changes into a pillow when he smushes it! The crew and all of their friends are having time off school. Alicia Bolton(Jessica Alba) visits Troy from the countryside and he seems to have an uncontrollable fit whenever he sees her. Meanwhile,a new teacher Robert Dawson(Jerry Springer) arrives in school and Gabriella is impressed at his ability. Feeling tired of Troy’s heartbreaking promises and deprived of his love,she bravely tries out for a teacher-student romance with Robert and even finds herself in bed with him. Sharpay Evans(Ashley Tisdale) soon finds herself head-to-head with a new rival in school Lana Danes(Avril Lavigne) who has the same snobby attitude as her. Troy is deeply shaken by the news of Gabriella-Robert’s romance,he decides to use Alicia to drown himself in oblivion. One day when he goes for a checkup,he discovers that he has become impotent and in a fit of anger,he rapes Alicia. Gabriella and Troy learns about each other’s secrets and break up with each other.

The Graduation Battle-Of-The-Bands is drawing near and it was supposed to be a Troy-Gabriella duet.
