A trailer of Disney's High School Musical 2 on stage featuring songs "What Time is it" "Fabulous" "Everyday" and ...
I went to Disney World in Florida last week and went to Disney Hollywood (formerly known as MGM). Several times a day, a stage of High School Musical 3 would come down the street, and a group would perform some songs.
So my question is this: Who are some of the guy dancers? Not the main four who sing over the microphones, but the extras who are on the ground and dance during the songs. I realize that there is a different cast for each performance, but I'm looking for one in particular. He was wearing the red and black striped shirt when I watched it, and I can't remember his name.
If it were me, I would be scared of you for posting this on the internet and wouldn't want you to find me...
Does anyone know if the high school musical live on stage (the play not the concert)is played by the original characters? my daughter hopes to see corbin bleu
yes they are. but i think its over now. they had a tour, but a lot of plays have been made about it so it may not be that particular one.
I'm really determined to get into theatre and modeling!
i went to see high school musical: live on stage and i would love to be part of something like that!!
I also really want to do some modeling and i think i would be really good!
All i want to know is how do you get into it, how do you know about auditions for these things?
If anyone has any answers or tips please let me know!!!
Thanx!
Those are different things... Regarding acting... you have to identify a style that you want. A person, group, or company that really make you think "I want to do that". Find a way to practice with their technique (and i said practice, rather than study). practice is finally what will get you on stage in a solid way. Make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. Being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. Welcome! Best of luck
It's my senior year in Drama Club at my high school and we're kind of in a pickle about which musical to do. There are two high schools in my town and both have really great drama programs. We also have a Civic theater group in the community. Out of the three companies, we've put on many productions in recent years and we want to refrain from duplicating shows. The shows include Hello Dolly, Guys and Dolls, Grease, Music Man, Footloose, Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie, Into the Woods, and Honk.
Another concern is our cast size. We have a relatively large drama club, between 50-65 people. We normally do a straight play in the fall and a musical in the spring. Our cast is also primarily girls, there are only about 15-20 male actors.
I would definitely say that acting/singing is the strong point of the group. We are not renowned for our dancing skills, although we pulled off Footloose rather nicely if I do say so myself.
Our budget is rather small, which is generally the case for most high schools. We do put on a fall straight show as a bit of a fundraiser for the musical though.
Our plan for this year was to try and get the stage rights for Legally Blonde when we learned that it was going off Broadway and that MTI was acquiring it. Unfortunately, the show is still restricted, and I don't think it will be available this year.
Right now, we're exploring new options and we're not really coming up with anything fantastic. Some have suggested Little Shop of Horrors, but with so few female leads, I don't see it working out. I think that the Wizard of Oz musical would be a good choice for us because we have people who fit the roles and it is so well known and popular. We don't exactly live in the most cultured part of the world, so Wizard of Oz would be a far greater draw than something bold like Rent Jr. or the Rocky Horror Show, which our Civic Theater is doing this fall anyway. Our audience consists of generally older people and I don't think they're ready for Rent.
At this point, we are pretty much open to anything. Please don't answer if you are just going to suggest things like Wicked, because not only is it impossible to get the rights but its ridiculous to even think that a high school could do that.
Anything Goes,
Little Miss Saigon
Crazy for You
All Shook Up
Footloose
Big River
Into the Woods
Guys and Dolls
The Music Man
All are great shows, little to no down time and constanty moving
All have house rocking numbers. Funny Musicals are always a hit....
All Shook Up is 27 Elvis songs done in a Broadway style musical, even in your ... less then cultured neck of the woods knew who Elvis was...
You can get any of these shows from either Samuel French and or Theatrical Release companies

High School Musical: Live On Stage @ HK APA review | Through The ...
If there isn’t Zac Efron to drool over? With the arrival of High School Musical: Live On Stage to Hong Kong’s Academy of Performing Arts, it was my chance to find out!
Lack of Efron aside, I had also worried how the soundtrack, largely made up of rather slight pop songs, would translate to the more complex arrangements of musical theatre. Luckily, the majority have been substantially and successfully beefed-up – morphs from weak Vanessa Hudgens solo to deluxe power-ballad duet.
However, the biggest problem lies in the script, which was hardly a masterpiece in its TV movie origins and hasn’t got much better with stage treatment. I doubt the writers unduly taxed themselves when they sat down to make the easiest buck of their life by adapting the film for theatre – some parts are lifted almost wholesale from the movie (including a cringeworthy section about wanting to be best friends at kindergarten), other parts heavily rely on for “inspiration”, there are cultural references that would barely translate to Hicksville parts of America, let alone to an international audience and the actual dialogue itself is simple, workmanlike and generally not as funny as it could have been. Whilst this isn’t really a problem when you’re pitching yourself at an audience that already knows the plot, characters and songs inside-out (and I think you can guess at the complexity of these elements given the number of five year olds experts on HSM), it’s up to the cast to sell the production – and that they must definitely do.
