As of the latest information, the High School Musical 2 show is closed and High School Musical 3 is scheduled to begin on October 24th. Those dates can change.

we're doing the high school musical stage show at my community theatre group and i got the part of Jack Scott.. only they changed it to Jackie Scott. I was wondering what kind of role that is.. I would also like to know if there are any singing parts.. a lot of lines.. and so on. And i was wondering if somebody could fill me in on Taylor. What kind of singing does she do, are there a lot of lines, and so on. Thanks so much =D
We did High School Musical at my school last year. Jack Scott was the announcer person and he didn't really have that many lines aside from the "announcements" and the person cast as Jack Scott didn't remember his lines so he actually had a script at his little table. Jack Scott doesn't do much singing either. Taylor is one of the main characters, so she has a lot of lines and a few solos. She's not singing a whole song by herself, but in a lot of songs, she has solos. I hope you have a ton of fun with your musical! =)
I don't think that it's too late to audition for High School Musical 3, if they're making one. I've heard from some people that they are, and from others that they're not. Someone on here said that they are making it, but it's not going to be on TV, it's just going to be a stage performance. So anyways, I'm not really sure, but if they do end up making a third movie, this is the site that they will post the audition information on. Steamboat Today: Steamboat Springs High School musical opens tonight
— The fictional Deadrock, Nev., can be saved, and the performing arts might just be the thing to save it.
On the auditorium stage at Steamboat Springs High School on Tuesday evening, Justin Doerr, playing the part of Bobby Child in this year’s fall musical “Crazy For You,” had lofty dreams of pulling off a fantastic performance in Deadrock’s defunct theater.
In the musical, stereotypical cowboys in chaps and sleekly dressed flapper girls from New York City join to bring the arts to life in the small, rural town, a blend of the best of both worlds that at times reflects reality, assistant director Kirsten Delaney said.
“It’s kind of representative of Steamboat,” said Delaney, a high school senior and a veteran of the drama program. “We’re kind of in the middle of nowhere, and we’re trying to get the arts noticed.”
The musical opens at 7 p.m. today in the auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and $3 for SSHS students with an activities pass. There also will be performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday.
