Are High School Recruiting Services worth the money they Charge for their services?

I'm a 10th grader who has played on the Freshman and VJ teams and will move to Varsity in my Junior year however I have not receieved any letters from colleges so I am considering using a service to circulate my tape and get my name out. It this a wise investment or it this something that I can either do myself?
Any advice from those experienced in the recruiting process would be helpful.

Lets just say Villanova found Westbrook through those he didn't have a team. if he didn't use that he'd be a bum in Detroit. So definitely do it. on second thaught your a 10th grader you got 2 years left maybe next year do it if no one asks you or do it now. Just listen to me this year next year or 2 years from now no matter what time you MUST do it. If you do it email me im an agent for the N.F.L. I might beable to help.

Are high school recruits allowed to practice with the team on an NCAA division 1 official recruiting visit?

No. It's against the rules.

What was Michael Vick's High School Recruiting ranking with Scout and/or Rivals?

What was his overall ranking and ranking in dual threat, or was he just named an ATH.

He was considered as one of the top 5 QBs in the country and he was a SuperPrep and PrepStar All American. He was overshadowed though by Ronald Curry who lived nearby who was considered the #1 QB in the country as well as a pretty good football player named Allen Iverson who also lived nearby. Michael's high school team wasn't that great as well so the hype with him wasn't that big compared to the other two. He got numerous scholarship offers and narrowed his choices down to Syracuse and Virginia Tech. He was really leaning to Syracuse as he had been a fan all his life but obviously he decided to go to Virginia Tech because he thought it was a better fit for him. I don't think Rivals and Scout were ranking players back in 1997 and if they were it's extremely hard to find.

Why does high school sports recruiting get so much publicity press attention in the paper and the news?

Seems like football and basketball are the two popular sports that every year brings new senior high school students to the front as they try to decide what college they will attend. It would be cool if some of these people said what college they wanted to attend and what they might decide to study while there. The press makes all the attention about how they will play and help the college team win the championship though. I guess the popular culture always overshadows the academic learning process with the titles, stats, & sports awards.

Because local wise, its a town athlete,. everyone wants to let everyone know where he is from...so the town can get its 15 minutes of fame.. this will attract more people to your town area, helping out with the towns financial income...

Nation wise, is to let other teams know who they have picked...so that other teams will know that they got a serious challenge...

they also do it for the athlete, so that when or if he becomes really successful he will remember, and give back to the town that helped him out...

i played for USC, unfortunately, no press and stuff,.. but the star players that came up, some of us usually had to go attend these sign ins,..which to me were awesome, if it was me,.. doing the signing..

Is the recruiting of high school freshmen and sophomores getting out of hand?

They don't even know if these guys will be good. USC and UK have both signed high school freshmen and UK has even signed an eight grader.

my answer i think for the change and develope of good team..
