Junior School

Hi, I'm just doing some research and would like to know how junior school teaching jobs are usually obtained. Are they normally advertised like other jobs in newspapers and online? Also, who would you usually have the interview with and where?

Teaching jobs are advertised on the council websites e.g. a job in Devon will be advertised on the Devon county website. Sometimes they are advertised in local papers and the TES (Times Educational Supplement) advertise some as well.

You have the interview at the school and it normally takes a whole day. At most schools you have to teach a group of children or a class for a session and have a formal interview with the head teacher and school governors. Sometimes these interviews are done separately. In some schools you other tasks to complete and sometimes you have interviews with the pupil council.

I don't know where the other person got the idea that you have to be finger printed from - maybe in some countries you do but not in the UK. You do have to be criminal record checked though to ensure you are safe to work with children.

Hi folks, especially teachers, I am doing some research and would like to know how someone would pursue a junior school teacher training qualification, say after their A-levels. Can you actually do it as a university degree or is it something you would do as a course either instead of or after university? I would just like to know the route to qualifying. Also, can anyone tell me how old you would be once you've qualified if you train straight after your A-levels at 18? Thanks for any info!

I went to St. Helen's RC Junior School in Brentwood, Essex, UK and I'd love to see what some of em are up to these days. I've tried Friends Reunited but now I'm hitting a dead end.

Any suggestions?
I need stuff I can use in England, btw, not USA, as we have a different schooling system here!

I am 15 years old, and I am a Junior. I want to start homeschooling because of bullying. Kids bully me at school and I just cannot take it anymore. I have spoken to my counselors but they don't do anything. But I want to know if High School Junior year is a bad time to start homeschooling. Also do parents have to teach you when homeschooling or are there homeschooling teachers? By the way I live in New York City, Manhattan. What are some state regulations?

Usually when you homeschool, your mom is your teacher. But there is always the option of online schooling as well.

If other kids are being mean to you, you need to get out. At home, you will be safe and happy. You will be able to learn better without that stress.

It is fine to start homeschooling in your Junior year. Lots of teens do that!
