I assume that you have already got to where you need to;
if not, here is the description of the route:
THE BEST ROUTE : GET INTO AN AUTORICKSHAW AND TELL HIM WHERE YOU HAVE TO GO AND HE WILL TAKE YOU THERE.
To ensure that he is not cheating and in case, you have to drive by yourself, here is the route suggestion:
From the Laxman Public School, go east just by the side of the IIT flyover, and turn left on the Khel Gaon Marg; keep going till you hit the Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg).
Turn Left (West) and as you approach the AIIMS intersection, follow signs for going to INA and take a right turn.
Then continue on the Aurobindo Marg onto the Safdarjung flyover and after crossing the Safdarjung airport, on the traffic lights where four roads meet (Aurobindo, Tughlak, Safdarjung and Prithviraj roads), take a left turn into Safdarjung road and keep going straight beyond the Indira Gandhi Memorial and take the Teen Murthi Marg till you actually reach the Teen Murti intersection (you will see the three statues in the centre of the park) and here leave the first road to your left and leave the second one as well (formerly known as the Wellingdon Crescent) and take the third road which is called South Avenue. As you hit the end of the road, turn left on the Dalhousie road and you will find signs for the Mughal Gardens.
This route in addition to being short, will also avoid many VIP areas and so traffic diversions.

www.google.com and type New Delhi and then click on Maps and you can see the google map with appropriate enlargement of your Laxman Public School and trace the entire route.

Schools in Delhi reopened Monday after the biting cold of earlier weeks abated somewhat, putting an end to the extended winter vacation.
The schools run by the Delhi government, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and private managements reopened after the government extended their closure till Jan 13 due to the intense cold wave. The schools were scheduled to re-open Jan 3 after the usual winter break for Christmas and New Year.
The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi Monday was 7.5 degrees Celsius, two notches below the average.
“Although the schools are reopened, the officials of the education department are concerned on how to complete the syllabus as exams will begin in March,” an official from the city government’s education department told IANS.
Running short on time, schools are planning extra classes for higher secondary classes, which are expected to eat into the much-cherished weekends.
