What is an ideal size for a High School Varsity Lineman?

I am going to be a freshman in high school next year, and I want to try to play on the varsity team as a O-lineman and defensive end. I am about 6"0' and weigh 215 lbs. I began lifting in January and I bench 145, clean 135, military press 130, and squat 230. What should I improve on?

you need to lose some fat and gain muscle. Run hills to get stronger

Okay well I'm 5'9 and weight 185. I play FB if you want to play lineman then gain maybe ten more pounds and your in the clear. But you also have to be good a blocking. Are you good at blocking? and also you can be a FB to if you can block and run. Fb sounds like it would be great for you.

I am a defensive line man what should i be able to do as a high school lineman?

I weigh 265 lbs and i am 6'1
What should my 40 be ?
What should i be able to bech press?
What should my verticle be?

you have a good size.

Your 40 should be btw 5.0-5.5...D Linemen are supposed to be strong and have an ability to block the gap so the RB bouces to the outside.

**Exception for DE cause they have to be quick**

your bench should be your weight at the min...so you're looking at over 300 for your max

Not to sure on the average verticle leap for linemen but i'm sure it's not that high.

what is a good weight for a high school lineman?

im going into 10th grade and i wanna be a lineman on both sides of the ball. what is a good weight to be at?

if your smaller as in height about 175-185 lbs if your bigger 185-200 lbs but it would be good to have a mixture of muscle and fat and athletic to play both sides

  • Arlington Sam Houston lineman Tony Morales named starter for the ...

A few D/FW-area athletes were invited to play in tomorrow's U.S. Army All-American Bowl, but only one was named a starter to the West squad: Arlington Sam Houston interior lineman Tony Morales.

Morales, named All-Area first team yesterday, gets the starting job at left guard, according to Rivals.com. Morales has committed to Texas Tech, along with his twin brother.

Here's the depth chart for both teams.

Two area quarterbacks will get some playing time. Denton Guyer's J.W. Walsh was named to the team earlier in the season, while Cedar Hill's Driphus Jackson won the MTV2 reality show, "The Ride," to secure his roster spot. Walsh and Jackson are listed No. 2 and 4 for the West squad, respectively.

Cornerback Tevin Mitchel from Mansfield Legacy will come off the bench, according to the depth chart.

For those tuning in (the game is on NBC at noon Saturday at San Antonio's Alamodome), there will be a few starters from Texas that played in playoff games in the area.
