What is the highschool needed GPA for "The Los Angeles Film School" in Hollywood, California?

Here are their requirements for admission: http://www.lafilm.edu/admissions/require ments.html

They want to see your school transcript, but there is no mention of a minimum GPA.

Be warned, though, that their tuition is $41,720 (according to their site).

No. it is not a good school. ALL Film Schools crank out graduates who generally cannot establish careers in the Film Industry. It's a disgrace. Film Schools exist mainly to give salaries to film school professors.

I'm applying to the LA film school and I was wondering how hard the admissions is. It requires a highschool transcript and i had to write 2 essays. I was wondering if they focus on the transcript the most or what?

It's probably a combination of the two.. but don't worry - there are many great film schools OR a general liberal arts education can give you a great background for making films.

I've been like obsessed with this school for so long. I want to go so bad. I live in Ohio, I was wondering how good my chances are of getting in. I go to a high school that has visual and performing arts classes and im part of the film/theatre program. will this increase my chances? oh and do you know how many people are accepted each year?

LA Film School is EXTREMELY selective. This is LA. It's expensive and selective and filled with the kids of Hollywood moguls. Dunno what you GPA and credentials are, all you can do is apply.

Does anyone have any information, experience, or advice about the Los Angeles Film School?
I really want to learn the ins and outs of screenwriting, film, and script. I already have a B.A. in mass communications but its not from a well-known university. I am thinking of going to the LA Film School in hopes of making connections, leanring and working while in the process. Does anyone have any experience, or advice for me before I venture out on tht $41,000 investment???

If you're looking for connections LA Film School is a good place to make them. I've learned over the last few years since graduating that this town really runs on networking, so between your teachers (who all work actively in the industry) and fellow students, that's one of the best aspects of going to LAFS.

The classes are smaller than you'll find at other schools, which is nice. It's expensive, but that's also true for any quality film school you'll go to. But what I liked best is that it's academic but also very hands on. We were always working on a project and actually doing things instead of sitting around in a classroom most of the week listening to lectures. And they don't skimp on technology. Everything is very cutting edge.

Overall I had a great experience. Now I'm just working off the student loan debt...
