I just need to know, what's the typical tuition to go there?

about 15 years ago a 9 month sound recording engineering program tuition cost 10,000 dollars. Add another 5,000 for inflation and that would be my hypothesis.

I was going to go to the LA recording school
I still might do that after West LA
either that or the Art Institute

Wow, 20 grand sure is a lot of money to spend on some education that is not college-transferable.

I went to a recording school to become a recording engineer, and even though that's different from being a record producer, I can tell you right now that it's more about who you know and your experiences that count, more than what school you went to and what grades you earned.

If the school will guarantee you a position in the field -- such as an internship or assistant to someone relevant to your profession -- it will probably be worth it (but 20 grand is still a lot!).

If the school is just going to spit you out at the end of the course and tell you that it's all in your hands, I highly recommend just going to a legit college/university and getting a degree in music composition. You will thank yourself later.

You'll be surprised at the differences in producers I've worked with who have studied music in college and who have not.
