What are some good digital media/graphic design schools in or near LA?

I want to go into something with computer design or editing or something like that where I can be in the entertainment industry. What would be a good school to go to for that?

What are the best schools for graphic arts, media design, or animation?

I am looking to go to school for graphic design, some type of media arts, or possibly animation. I can go anywhere but would prefer to stay on the east coast. I was considering the Art Institutes. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am considering online school, which is another reason I was looking at the Art Institutes. Thanks!

Art Institutions are ok if you're looking for an Associate's degree. They even offer job placement services and if you're really good, you'll find top placement in a reputable company. Actually, I think they are very good alternatives to Universities. I recommend looking into one.

School for learning Media Design (Flash Dreamweaver etc)?

Hi,

I'm 37 & considering going back to graduate school. I'd like to major in graphic design, mostly flash & dreamweaver. Web Design & Animation stuff. Are there any real "online schools" anyone can recommend. I want something legit, not a waste of time where the degree isn't worth the piece of paper it's printed on. Otherwise, I'll likely look for a school nearby.

Basically, I just want to learn those & similar programs. Thanks.

Dear ,

For my last assignment, I had conduct some research on this topic and found this very helpful

What is better for Digital Media Design? Certificate or degree?

I’m 23 and I’ve been out of college for a few years…I ended up leaving school because I wasn’t happy living on campus where I was, and I came back home and got a full time job in insurance, which is what I’ve been doing for the past 3 years. I want to go back to school for Digital Media Design (I’ve always been interested in the art field, but I was an English major before I left school). Moore College of Art and Design offers a certificate program at night, it is 8 courses and would take about a year to complete. Or I could go to Temple University’s art school and take classes to get my degree part-time at night…this of course would take years for me to complete. I’m not sure what is the best way to go. I know everyone says it is always better to have a degree than just a certificate, but I know a lot of that depends on the field. Anyone out there work in the Digital Media field and have any advice for me? Thanks.

I'm a graphic designer but I work in the middle east. I'm not sure if my advise would hold for the US.

In my experience the most cruicial part in any art field is your portfolio.

A lot of times, a certificate + 2 pieces of creative works can put a lot of weight than a degree!

Keep in mind that in areas such as Digital Media Design, its creativity that really counts!

Good Luck!

At school, in Media we have been asked to design a perfume, and a slogan, but i'm stuck on the slogan, help!?

I have named mine 'Free' and i want it to be about your freedom within, any ideas on a slogan?

Here you go: "In a world of ever decreasing freedoms, you want to smell like what your mind imagines life would be like if it were less imperfect. Free. It costs money, but It stinks... good."
