I want to go to military school for my last two years of high school, but my mom doesn't want me to because she knows that I want to join the army after high school. I guess it's part of her plan to make me forget about it. Are there any tips for convincing her? I've been back and fourth about wanting to join the army for several years, but I just want the experience of a military school to see if I like it before I decide to join. Any advice??
Just tell her what you said here: " I just want the experience of a military school to see if I like it before I decide to join."
Military schools (which can also be known as private schools, boarding school) are a traditional and well reputed part of Americas education ...
My husband attended school through the military full-time this past year. My question is can he claim the lifetime learning credit, or do military schools not count. It was nursing school that is equal to a regular nursing course.
If you pay qualified education expenses with certain tax-free funds, you cannot claim a credit for those amounts. You must reduce the qualified education expenses by the amount of any tax-free educational assistance and refund(s) you received.
Tax-free educational assistance. This includes:
The tax-free part of scholarships and fellowships (see chapter 1),
Pell grants (see chapter 1),
Employer-provided educational assistance (see chapter 11),
Veterans' educational assistance (see chapter 1), and
Any other nontaxable (tax-free) payments (other than gifts or inheritances) received as educational assistance.

Do you need to be incredibly smart to get into any of the Military Academies and is it really difficult once youre in?
What GPA through high school? What kind of SAT? Not looking at any of the physical requirements, just about all of the mental things.
A high school friend of mine was appointed to the Coast Guard Academy. His father was a retired Coast Guard Officer and hinted that he could have helped me if I were inclined to go there (I was not). I would recommend looking up a local military officer, either active duty or retired, that has completed a service academy and ask for advice. I would guess that it is very competetive academically, however, character and leadership skills will also be a key to getting appointed and successful completion. As for my friend that did go to the Coast Guard Academy, he dropped out after a year because it was more demanding than he bargained for. I don't know the details, so I can't be any more specific than that.

Commissioning in the USMC will require American citizenship. You can enlist though without it.
There are two university paths -- the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD or any public university that offers an ROTC program.
The Naval Academy requires some very high credentials and recommendations to get accepted. But the ROTC programs are rather easy to get into.
The Naval Academy is free and they pay you an enlisted salary while you are attending.
The ROTC programs cover your tuition and books and offer small stipends once you have signed a contract committing to service after you finish school.
i'm writing an expert of one of my stories so i can send it to a few publishers, but i'm stuck because i don't know what they would call they're counselor. They live at a military school and since i have never gone i wouldn't know what it's like. i'm going to try to watch some military movies but if you guys could help me out i would seriously aprecciated it. Thank you in advance!
They call them by their ranks, army will call their NCOs by the ranks, and COs sir or mamm, all other services will be ranks...

Military school protesters expected in court - Army News | News ...
COLUMBUS, Ga. — Two protesters accused of trespassing onto Fort Benning are scheduled to appear in federal court this week.
Nancy H. Smith and Christopher Spicer are set to appear in federal court Wednesday.
They are two of four people accused of stepping onto the post at the November rally to demand the closing of the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, formerly known as the School of the Americas.
Louis John Vitale, 78, and Michael Omondi, 24, have already pleaded no contest to a trespassing accusation. Both were sentenced to six months in prison.
