New School

next year im going to a new school and have to redo my 10th grade year. i wanna re-invent myself. last time i tried to go to a new school (worked out for 2 months..) i was shy and talked to nobody knew nobody wanted nothing to do with anybody.
at my school i attend now im popular everyone knows my name i have amazing friends and everything
how can i get that back at a new school?
i wanna be popular like i am now how can i do that?

I just moved into a new neighborhood and I am going into my 9th grade year (first year of high school) next week. However, I don't know ANYBODY. I went to an orientation today and realized that there is one middle school and one elementary school that feeds into my new high school. So, everyone has known each other since K-garten. It felt like I was just taking up space.
I was hoping to hear any stories from anyone who has been in a similar situation, and any tips to not make the next four years absolute hell.

I find this kind of funny because I've been through the same thing before, and I'm going through it right now. I actually had an orientation today as well and the best advice I could give you is to put yourself out there. You should join clubs that suit your interests and just try to talk to people. Try to find common ground with others and you'll make friends. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself and ask someone to help show you around and eat lunch with. Everything will go a lot smoother if you're nice and try not to be too shy.

This is my second day in a new middle school 8th grade.
I already made some friends but they say for me to be in there group - I must prove to them I am not afraid to get a detention.
Should I do it?
I received detentions in my old school - but they want me to prove to them I do get detentions.

k so my parents decided to move and next week i will be attending a different school wich SUCKS!! its my sophomre/junior in highschool, 2nd sememster in an already new school, I made friends very easily and im finally comfortable and use to the area.. now they want to move us again.. everything is in boxes now.. and the movers are here... the new house is nice and really big... but its not gonna be the same.. the new school im going to is an alternative one (school for kids who have average potential or above average potential, who need a more flexible schedual).. my parents basically want me to focus more on my school on less on guys, friends etc.. so they thought it would be best to put me in that skool.. which sucks! i went for an interview and everything there and he basically said its independing learning.. and i go in for 2 hours and thats it twice a week.. what would i do in my spear time?? i need the social interaction!! friends etc..!!
any suggestions?

If I where you I would have gotten all the friends I made at my old school phone numbers and address so you can still keep in touch. When you go to your new school make new friends I know it might be hard but just give it a try. In your spare time you could call yuor old friends up or you could go to the mall with your new friends.

So, my daughter is starting pre-k in september in a brand new (semi expensive) catholic private school. I know it is going to be a huge adjustment for her going from a very disorganized, small day care center to a "big girl school" with an actual curriculum, new friends, new teacher and new environment. But I have a small problem: My mother (her grandmother) wants to take her on vacation to the shore only two days after she starts her new school. She would only be missing a week but she would be missing the introductions, back to school night, etc. I dont want to make this transition more stressful than it already will be for her. And I dont know if a vacation with her grandmother is appropriate two days after school starts. I dont get along with my mom at all and she insists that I am being selfish and school is not that important. What should I do?

tell your mom to shove it. if you dont want your daughter to miss a week of school, dont let her
