I go to santaluces high school and we dont have an rotc program, and i intend to enlist in national guard after i recover from knee surgery.could I be in an rotc program at another school without attending a different school then the one im at?

Check with your school counselors and also with any schools nearby that do have an ROTC program. Some states have been very supportive of this program and have even mandated that it must be made available in the district to all students where a student attends school. While that means it may not be offered at your school a school that has it in your district would then have to allow you to attend their program as well as your school giving you time off to do so.

My daughter is in the Santaluces High School Marching Chiefs ( www.santalucesband.net ). state champs two years in a row now. This year, the school was selected to represent the state of Florida at the 4th of July parade in Washington D.C.... which is a tremendous honor. Only 15 bands are selected each year and unlike many "invitations" which we have declined (we were invited to the Rose Bowl, and even were invited to London to perform for the Queen) this opportunity is a chance of a lifetime.

The big problem is that many of our kids are too poor to afford a trip like this and we need help to get our kids to D.C. this summer.

I have tried everything from approaching corporate sponsors to applying for grants.... but so far our collection efforts have generated a few thousand bucks at best.

We still need $90K for busses, hotels, etc.... and our Boosters are exhausted from their USUAL fundraising. Does anyone know a way for us to get that kind of money within a months time?
We raise $135K every year through invitationals, chocolate sales, auctions and whatnot.... our boosters don't have the chops to raise ANOTHER $90 thousand by July.... I'm looking for help finding an angel.... a sponsor or a way of doing this through unconventional methods.

You could try a silent auction, those seem to bring in some money. We did this in my music program last year and they raised a ton of money, and my current school does this every year, a gala with a silent auction. Ask all the kids if their parents can donate any services that people would pay for, or to go out to businesses and ask for a small donation of service or items for an auction.

my mom want to move out to another house and im cool with it but im really worried about the school im going its called santaluces highschool? had u ever hear about this school? and when i said worst like gangs and stuff i noe thats normal in every single highschool but is this one worst?
its in florida
i was hoping someone that goes to this school could answer

im going to be a freshman in santaluces this year,and yeah ive heard that theirs a lot of bad people and gangs their but as long as you dont get involved with the wrong people you will be fine,my older sister went their too,shes 20 now but she just focused on her grades and sports and made good friends and didnt get involved with the wrong people. She also didnt go like partying and stuff cause thats usually where you get pressured to do something you will regret. While my sister was their some bad things happened involving one of the teachers but now santaluces is more strict with that kind of stuff so its not that bad.

Hey there everybody... my name is heber moreno and i was wondering if its hard to get football scholarships i am a freshman i weigh 240 lb's bench press about 175 or 180 lb's i'm pretty built and buff i play on defensive line as a nose guard or on offensive line as a guard.... my school has had one pro player his name is vince wolfork he plays for New England and i was wondering if some high schools are better at getting scholarships or what i would need to work on to have a scholarship ......

Its all in how you or your coach promote you. Game film must be sent out. Numbers are ok, but coaches will want to see game time performances. Send out tapes to as many schools as you can to get as much exposure as possible.
