School Administrative Software is a pretty broad term, however, for Financials and HR, you have to consider the size of your school district by number of students, employees, budgets and so on and then consider the available software venders in your state.  Each state has specific needs and unique tax laws, collection procedures, employment requirements for educators as well as background checks for all employees.  Furthermore, it is hard to find single venders that can accommodate both financials and human resources from state to state.  This is why only massive (25,000 + student) school districts use “big” software providers like Oracle and People Soft.  Again, depending on your state, it’s hard to fine one that does both, however, Keystone Information Systems (http://www.keyinfosys.com/) is a prime example and a strong candidate for the best school administrative software, so long as you live in Pennsylvania (PA), New Jersey (NJ), Road Island (RI) and Virginia (VA) where Keystone Information Systems focuses their market expertise.

Learn the Way to Supervise and Control Study Software

My college is a non-profit college. We're looking for a Administration Office software to run our school, but it's to be under $1,000.00 since we're a non-profit school and don't have much money. Please help us out by showing us what is good, why and how much (please include the source). Many many thanks. God bless you all.

That will be really tough. First, make sure that you spell out your requirements. Then purchase MS Office or OpenOffice (openoffice.org). Hire some low paid or unpaid Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering students. Offer them college credit as an incentive. Have the interns sit down with you and create a custom system for you.

Try to stick with open source software.

I would consider doing some serious fundraising efforts. Outreach to alumni and students. Reach out to companies to offer sponosorship. For example, see if you can send a letter to Oracle or Microsoft. Ask them if they could donate the software and in exchange you would be willing to be a case study and train all your students and staff in their product line (especially the IT students).

Contact local businesses for fundraising.

Two schools located approximately a kilometer apart and on opposite sides of a busy road have merged. The larger of the two schools is used as a Junior High School, and the smaller of the two schools as a Senior High School.
The computer facilities and networks at the Junior High School were recently upgraded.
The computer facilities and networks at the Senior School site are in urgent need of upgrading. The school has three computer labs each with 20 computers and 1 monochrome laser printer. There are a further 16 computers in the Library as well as a monochrome laser printer, a color inkjet printer, a flatbed scanner (which is connected to a standalone computer), and a photocopier. Most of the computers are close to five years old, are very slow and have insufficient memory to meet the needs of the students.
All teachers have been issued with laptops and desktop computers have been removed from the Staff Room.
The Administration Office computers and printers have recently been replaced and need no further action.
The two main objectives for the school are to network the two school sites, and to ensure that the students in the Senior School have access to the best computer facilities they can provide.
The school requires that:
1.Both school sites are networked,
2.The current network, computer labs, and library are upgraded and/or redesigned to meet student and teacher needs,
3.Wired access for at least one teacher computer is provided in all classrooms,
4.Wireless network access is available in all classrooms as well as some outdoor areas for teachers and students,
5.Students have access to study resources from school and home,
6.Videoconferencing facilities are available.

Suggest a type of LAN architecture that is suitable for the school. Please identify all the network hardware and software necessary to build the LAN solution(s) you are proposing.
Remember that it is a school and access to the internet will need to be controlled and some sites blocked.

This is the kind of design people get paid to engineer, so I'm not going to hit all the points. I will say that the proximity of the two schools makes me want to price several options: fiber, microwave, and VPN. Putting a fiber connection in would be very expensive, but will almost certainly provide the best results. Microwave will not be cheap, but should be significantly cheaper than fiber, though installation is best done by professionals, and you may have atmospheric disturbances that make your signal flap. Finally, you could just get a separate Internet connection for both sites and build a VPN between the two.

You don't trying to tampering with school computers is probably grounds for expulsion from school or at the very least suspension and/or banned from using school computers. Don't try to uninstall software especially if it is the Internet filtering software that your school is required to have on all their computers by federal law. Use school computers for school work and leave the personal web surfing at home.
