Does anyone know where i can find graphs of how much of the school funding goes to things like sports and affter school activities?
Each district establishes according to guidelines its funding allotments. You would need to contact the school district. The information is for public knowledge./

Which world leader is planning to sign a bill soon which will end funding for school vouchers in the capital city of his nation? This bill will mean that at his daughter's elite private school, Sidwell Friends School, two students will have to go back to public schools next year. James and Sarah Parker are two black students who will lose their school vouchers which provide them a freedom of choice of schools. Which world leader are we talking about here?
Why isn't Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton going up against the teacher's unions and this mystery world leader?
Under the guise of "equality" liberals are constantly hurting those they are supposed to be helping. Obama is the culmination of years of liberal teaching in sub-standard public schools and liberal universities.
He's now "helping" poor folks by keeping them from the educational opportunities that his girls enjoy. He's helping to keep them poor by keeping them in dangerous, low-performing schools that he will no doubt promise to throw more (tax-payer) money at to "fix". But it will NEVER work. Liberalism kills hope; it has NEVER inspired hope.
edit: Oh yeah, the answer: That would be the dishonorable Barack Hussein Oh, bummer! Thank you very much!
edit2: where has this question been??? It disappeared for a while, didn't it? Or is it just me?
People on welfare do not pay income or property tax yet they complain about school funding. You never hear a reporter who does a piece on school funding address this. Now that Obama is going to over turn welfare reform even more kids will become a burden to these poorly funded public schools. When will people learn that welfare is one of the most destructive things in society.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
-Thomas Jefferson-
many inner city schools are funded almost entirely by federal and state funds where as the districts that are in better neighborhoods have the same state and federal funding plus more local money and that makes a big difference in the schools budget. also parent involvement in the school and their kids personal education varies from area to area. this also makes a school more accountable to the public. very simply put those that sit back and complain that not enough help comes to me will never have as good of a result as those that get up and go do some thing about it themselves.
edit to vemma i know that not all welfare reciepients are there for ever and the stories such as yours is how it should work out. never confuse your self with the welfare class of people that they are complaining about in this type of question. in 1981 as a high school grad i could not find a job either and saw many men like your husband standing in line for the same kitchen help jobs that i was trying for. i decided to leave town by joining the army. it worked out for me and at the time i thought it left a job for someone who needed it more.
My application for EI funding to go to school was rejected last month.
An EI worker called me and said that since this field does not have a good future prospect, they won't approve funding for it.
Do I have the right to appeal their decesion?
Thanks!

Yes you do, but they most likely will still deny your appeal. Cant hurt to try- but I would listen to them, they know- you may wish to get into another field.
Hi! I was just wondering if someone could explain state funding and school funding for me. I also was wondering if you could give me some examples of each.
Also, if you have an opinion I was curious if you believed it was fair or not? Why?
most fed money is in special designations: Title 10, Title 1, Sped,.etc. Usually account for 7-9% of public school finding. State funding- most from property taxes- accounts for the majority of public school funding
Due to the disparity of property values from state to state and district to district, it is never fair. There have been dozens of lawsuits across the states in regard to this inequity

Portland School Board finance committee stalls vote on local ...
The three-member finance, audit and operations committee of the Portland School Board agreed to stall a vote that would decide whether to recommend to the full board that it adopt a local option levy that would increase the local property tax for school operating budgets.
The committee said at a meeting tonight they will hold off on making the recommendation until after Gov. John Kitzhaber announces on Feb. 1 his state budget proposal and how that might effect local schools.
"I'd like to have some more information through the governor's budget proposal, although I can't see how we're going to be able to meet what we need to meet with our budget without the local option," said board member Pam Knowles.
Committee chairperson David Wynde made similar statements at the meeting.
"I don't think we're asking the board to make a decision at this point, but I think we're sending a very strong signal," Wynde said. "It's very likely that we recommend to the board that we put the local option on the ballot in May."
