How come in high school/middle school kids start to?

Change their style even if it looks really stupid
Like those "scene" girls and "emo" girls
They're usually teenagers, and they grow out of it eventually
But this never really happens in elementary school

Why do these fads start in middle school/high school?

Cause people are stupid. I hate emo and scene girls. If you dress with an emo or scene style then that's fine, but I hate it when they start acting emo and saying "My life is sooo bad" or "I'm sooo depressed." They're not really depressed. it's like it's cool amongst teenaged girls to be "depressed" nowadays. Seriously, write some emo poetry about it then burn it, cause no one wants to hear it.

What's the difference between high school/middle school fashion?

I am entering high school this fall as a freshman, and as the school year draws nearer, I'm starting to look online for fall clothes.

Back in middle school, it was pretty simple to keep up with 'fashion', at least, that's what the 12, 13, and 14 year olds called Abercrombie, Hollister, AE, Aeropostale, etc...

In high school though, I've heard that the way people dress to be fashionable are completely different from middle school.

I know that in high school, everyone dresses differently, but where do the people who used to shop at A&F, Hollister, etc, shop at in high school?

If you could give me a list of stores, or perhaps some tips on what KIND of clothes to buy (i.e., how to match top with bottoms, etc), it'd be most helpful!

Thanks!

shop at like

look at their websites

high school is more individuality
middle school everyone just wants to fit and be ordinary.
high school go for it.

Whats Usually looked for when trying out for middle school cheer leading?

I haven't done gymnastics in about 3 or 4 years but am interested in doing cheer leading. Its basketball cheer and I really wanna do this. Im just wondering what is usually looked for when trying out like a back bend or a round-off. My school's website hasn't been updated in a while so I can't check. If anyone knows what their schools middle school cheer requirements are please, please let me know asap!

I've not tried out for my school's cheer team as i am not old enough(have to be at least grade 8). But i have observed the trials, here are the following things that they look out for.

1) Speed of learning. They will see how fast you can pick up steps and how correct you are.

2) Expressiveness. Those who have good facial expression will get the priority.

3) Flexibility, agility and dance 'feel'. Even if you're expressive and fast, but you still look seriously stiff when you dance, chance is that you probably will not get selected.

I guess that's all. Good luck for your trial! XD

Why is important for kids to read in elementary school and middle school?

What's the difference between the types of reading students do elementary school/middle school and high school??

It is important for students to read in Elem and Middle school for many reasons. A child that reads in turn becomes a better reader and a better reader has an easier time comprehending things in life. It is also important for students to read because they can broaden their horizon and imagination. Students that read can go to magical places where they can fly and do magi or they can sail the seven seas as a Captain of a ship, the possibilities are endless! This can be a release for students that do not live in the most positive situations.
Then there is the academic benefits from reading, higher grades and test scores. Students that read well will read questions on tests CORRECTLY and will then answer the questions correctly. It is hard to really understand but a lot of students read questions wrong on tests and do not understand what it is asking. And how can you get a question right if you don’t really know what it is asking you?
I just barely touched on the reason students should read but here are just a few for you to ponder, and happy reading!

  • Middle-School Friends Are Critical For Future Success | Psych ...

Hanging out with the right group of friends is especially important as children transition from elementary to middle school.

University of Oregon psychologists say the new friendships may directly influence a teenager’s potential academic success or future challenges in high school and beyond.

A new study, appearing in the February issue of the , found that boys and girls whose friends are socially active in ways where rules are respected do better in their classroom work.

Having friends who engage in problem behavior, in contrast, is related to a decrease in their grades.

Having pro-social friends and staying away from deviant peers proved more effective for academic payoffs than simply being friends with high-achieving peers.

The middle school/junior high years are a major transition for children, as students move away from grade-school classrooms led by one teacher every day into an environment of multiple classes with different teachers and opportunities to make new friends.
