School Of Tomorrow

I live in New Jersey and we experienced 6 inches of rain, extreme flooding and power outages. The water has receded where I live but the governor declared a state of emergency this evening, due to widespread power outages and flooding across the state. Will my town have school tomorrow, or does a state of emergency mean the entire state will not have school tomorrow. Thanks.

Tomorrow is my first day of school. Sounds dumb, but I am extremely nervous. I strongly dislike school, and I don't know what I am going to do.. What do you think I should do to make myself feel better and to make myself feel more prepared?

im starting school too(seriously--a day from now) and i had that same problem...


first of all be more confident.do things you never did before like being more social and meeting new people. open up and be yourself.school is more fun to go through if you have people to talk to and hang out with.

second, think about all the reasons you dislike school. if you really think about it. its not that bad. just know you have your friends and people that care about you. school isnt that scary if you're enjoying yourself.

third, do something nice for yourself. get your hair done or go shopping and waste all ur cash on clothes you always wanted to buy. re-do yourself.
(do this today or somewhere later in the week if you can)

and dont think negative. thats the worst thing you could possibly do.
have faith in yourself.

I have missed a lot of school this year because I'm always getting sick. but I'm pretty sick this week. I stayed home today but my mom sais I have to go to school tomorrow. I don't know how to convince her from staying home. I'm thinking of waking up at 2am and making a fake pile of barf and dumping it on my floor (i will clean it) and waking her up. or hiding in a ditch when the bus comes tomorrow. anh other ideas?

If you are sick you should stay home and your mom should take proper care of you and allow it without grief. That said, sometimes moms don't do what they should.

Do what you can to talk sense into her and if you can't, then try to accentuate your symptoms so she can "see" your illness.

I would avoid hiding in a ditch, because that is playing hooky and you could get caught.

My parents just announced to me that they're sick of my 'messy' room and I can now wash my own clothes. The exact details (such as the fact that my dad swore at me) are unimportant.

I do however have one problem: My school uniform hasn't yet been washed and I don't know how to operate the washing machine. And I have school tomorrow (ie in 12 hours).

Please help! I don't know what to do!

If you are only washing your uniform, set the washing machine on small. (There is always a setting for the size of the load....small for just a few things, medium for a slightly larger amount of clothes, large for alot.) Put it on cold wash/cold rinse just to be safe. If you are using liquid detergent, use the detergent container's lid to pour the detergent into. Use about 1/3 of the cap for small, 2/3 for medium, a full cap for large. Start the water and add the detergent. Wait until all of the detergent is sudsy instead of concentrated liquid. Add you clothes. Close the washer door. Set you alarm (on your cell phone, perhaps) for about 30 minutes.

If the washer is finished, put the clothes in the dryer. Look for a 'normal' setting. Cotton setting. Put your clothes in there. Add a dryer sheet. Start the dryer. Go to bed.

They should be dry in the morning. If they are wrinkled, restart again for 5-10 minutes while you get ready for school. That should get the wrinkles out, and they'll be warm when you get dressed. :)

I live in Adams, Berkshire, Massachusetts, and up to 10 inches of snow is suppose to fall tomorrow. So, is there going to be school. I really need another break from school. Physics is killing me and so is Pre Calc. I hope it is a yes. Ten Points for best answer.
Add: That sucks to have two science courses at once. Lets both pray for no school. I didn't do my homework because I can do it in study hall and early in the morning. I don't feel like doing it right now.

I live in Massachusetts as well & i am watching the news as we speak. I think the chances are pretty good that you will not have school tomorrow. The morning commute is supposed to be horrible & each time they go through the school cancellations there seems to be more & more added. If we get what they say as far as snow fall about 6-10 inches, i doubt any one will have school. The only way i can see you having school is if for some reason the meteorologists predicted the storm wrong & we ended up with nothing. Snow days are the best!!:)
