Attorney: Socastee High shooting suspect was bullied
A 14-year-old Socastee High School student will remain in the custody of the state Department of Juvenile Justice for at least 10 more days and undergo a competency examination, a family court judge ruled today.
The teen's attorney said the boy has bullied for about half of his life and that will be play a prominent role in the case.

A 14-year-old Socastee High School student, who was taken into police custody Tuesday after trying to shoot a school resource officer, will likely face charges of attempted murder and possessing items to make a bomb, 15th Circuit Solicitor Greg Hembree said Wednesday morning.
He will be held until a hearing scheduled for Feb. 15.
The judge heard results of psychological evaluations of the teen during today’s hearing.
