Why do I need to summit a high school transcript to a community college?

Today I was looking at a community college that has the major of my dreams to find out that I have to summit a high school transcript. I called the school to find that this information is accurate!! I'm so shocked! I never knew that community colleges care. Does this mean that if I did poorly in high school that I will never be able to attend that community college?

Community colleges accept almost everyone, so as long as you graduated high school you can usually get in. The transcript is mostly to verify that you did indeed graduate. However, some specific majors require a minimum high school GPA to enter the program - even the college takes almost everyone, some majors are more selective. An example of this would be a typical nursing program - while the college might let you in with a 2.0, you'll need a 2.7 or better to enter most nursing programs.

What leaderships skills will I improve in my community and school by visiting the Future Summit of Leaders?

I am going to washington d.c. , and the requirements are a page essay of What leaderships skills will I improve in my community and school by visiting the Future Summit of Leaders?. i am very confused and need help

It's one thing learning about leadership from a textbook in your classroom, but it's quite another to enjoy face-to-face discussions about leadership skill development, strategies for both college and post-graduate admissions, as well as career planning with top professionals in their respective fields of expertise.

When you participate in Future Leaders Summit, you won't just read about leadership skills, you'll learn about them through unique access and direct contact with college students, college professors and working professionals on top campuses across the United States.

Any parent of a child with a developmental disability ever hear of a school called Summit Academy?

If so have you had any experiences with this school both good and bad. Would you suggest anyone to send their child who has Autism PDD/NOS and possible case of ADHD there?

All thoughts on this are greatly appreciated and please no smart answers this is very important to me.

Difficult to answer not knowing what state or country you are in.

In Michigan there is a Summit Academy, a charter school, if you're looking for info on this school I would recommend that you join the Autism-MI Yahoo group and ask on that group.

If you are not in Michigan I'd recommend that you find a local autism group and ask there.

What happened yesterday at the School Book Texas Summit?

Who won? The Liberals or the Conservatives? Will our school books get the truth back in them or not?

It's a huge mess.
The liberals wanted figures like Thomas Aquinas kicked out of the books because they are rabidly anti-religious to the point of completely disregarding important philosophers and historical documents
and the conservatives want Science removed from education altogether with a nice hot injection of morality and propaganda plugged into history.

I HATE politicians and ideologues.

  • First Forest Grove School District summit offers glimpse of ...

Before you can choose the most important school programs to fund, you’ve got to learn what employers and lawmakers expect students to know by the time they graduate.

That was the message Tuesday as Forest Grove ’s 102-member Community Summit on Education convened for the first of five sessions designed to rebuild the district’s educational priorities as it grapples with a 2011-12 operating budget that could be as much as 20 percent smaller than the current one.

Over the course of the two-hour meeting, summit participants listened as area employers and higher education gurus outlined what they seek in a high school graduate. Then they heard Forest Grove Director of Student Achievement John O'Neill outline what the law requires, and where Forest Grove stands against increasingly demanding state standards.

Members of the summit, made up of parents, professionals, community members and school employees, listened as business leaders in the health care...
