Sunday School Curriculum

I am a Sunday School teacher, and have used photo copies of some lesson plans. The best I have to go on are the phrases "Super Scripture" and "Message in Motion" The kids love the lessons and I had fun teaching them, but can't seem to find the curriculum.

Preteens are on their own planet. They act, think, and learn differently. They need something different, but finding the right curriculum ...

My husband and I teach the 6-8th grade Sunday School class, and when everyone shows up, there are 4 kids. Most weeks we have 2.

All the curriculum we've found is designed for larger classes- the activities and studies say things like "divide the students into groups of 4" and "if you have more than 15 students..."

We've adapted and scaled down curriculum and come up with our own for the last year, but I'm wondering if there are any published curriculums that are DESIGNED for small churches/ tiny classes.

It has been my pastexperience in teaching that age group, one does not need to divide up the class. Just go thru the material, and discuss it with them.

I used to teach sunday school and had bought a subscription to a really good site that offered lessons. I am beginnig again to teach and can not find the site i used to use im hoping someone else knows of one that is equal to or better than the one i used to use.

I'm teaching my first Sunday school class Sunday and am wondering if anyone can lead me in the right direction in regards to ciriculum for preteens? I don't have the money to purchase products offered online and such, so I was trying to figure out what I can do to keep these kids entertained and yet teach them about our Lord and Saviour.

Any suggestions anyone?

Open your Bible with them, and tell them (not read, but tell them) the OT stories, and NT stories.

They will love it. Most have likely never heard many of them in detail.

My local church is redesigning their Sunday School curriculum and are looking for suggestions, do you have any ideas on how to make the Sunday School classes more exciting and modern? Thanks alot!

"Exciting" isn't important.

What's important, and what will get people interested is relevance.

Instead of looking for a curriculum, look for needs. What does the church need? What are the people thinking about, worried about, and concerned about? Sunday school lessons and life lessons that address their needs are relevant, and may help attract people.

Also, train the teachers. Don't just hand a book to someone, and have them read out of it. Sunday School TEACHERS, need to be TAUGHT how to TEACH.

Don't worry about 'excitement,' worry about helping people.
