Need help on choosing a high school.!?

ok so there are 2 high schools that i can to.

Lodi High School (flames)
Tokay High School (Tigers)

They are both in Lodi which is right by stockton ca which isn't that good of a place so i looked into both and they look the same to me but maybe one is better in sports (i play volleyball) or the students are cleaner. I just moved to Lodi so i don't know anyone who has gone there so i can't ask them. . . so please help and just don't put one of the high schools tell me why they are better! thank you!

i dont, and doubt anybody else on here knows anything about these two high schools. i don't think you should be relying on the yahoo answers community on choosing the school for your educational future of highschool.

How can I cheer fo Tokay and still be home schooled?

I want to still be home schooled in high school, but I want to try out for the cheer team. I have done cheer before for about 3 years. Does anybody know how for me to be home schooled and be on the Tokay cheer team? Or who to talk with?

Most schools have a rule that athletes (including cheerleaders) must be currently enrolled students. However, I have heard of homeschooled students participating in high school activities. You'll probably need to talk to somebody "high up" in order to special permission like that. I'd start by talking to the school district athletic director, or someone at the superintendent's office.

Doctors note for P.E. Question please help!!?

Well im a freshman and I go to tokay high school, and I also have type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which develops because my pancreas isn't producing insulin. anyways in p.e we have to do swimming. its horrible, I absolutely hate it. Not just because of my hair and the fact that we only have 4 minutes to change, but also because every day we swam first quarter, my blood sugar would go low. So since we have to do swimming again :/ i'm going to try to get a doctors note. do you think my doctor would give me one?? Also, have you ever gotten a doctors note to get out of p.e? Thanks so much for the help!!

You can talk to your P.E teacher about this, and ask your parents to send a note or contact the teacher

What are some Reptiles that dont require UVB?

Ciaossu!~
Before you start saying if you cant provide UVB lighting dont get a rep. thats not the case at all. I have 2 leo geckos and this summer were making a nice large cage for them much like this pic: http://www.cagesbydesign.com/p-252-majes tic-reptile-cages-24h-x-96l-x-24d.aspx
So theyll be on the top(devided ofcourse) and the bottom will be open. Ive been thinking ill devide the bottom up for the feeders also so theyll be atleast 30 long by like 18 wide maybe 24 high Im not a 100% on the last two but the glass we have is 60 inchs long so well have alot of extra room. So i was thinking with the last bit i could get another reptile. But i dont want one that need UVB lighting. Not that i cant afford it. I actually have 2 right now brand new not using. Its just in the long wrong. the light bill will be a ton which i dont wanna have. So i was thinking something like my leo geckos that need a undertank heater and/or a heat lamp(which i have).
any ideas? or suggestions? Id prefer that itd be handlable (not Tokay geckos!) and not something thats gonna need mice and rats for food(snakes!. I loveeee rats and couldnt bare to feed them to a snake>.<) that and my mother is terrified of them and rather cut there heads off then learn to like them. Anyways ideas? something thatll eat roachs, crickets, meal worms, wax worms and MAYBE the occasional pinky>.> If my geckos will eat them other wise just the other stuff.
thanks best answer will get 10 Points~
also only answer if you know what your talking about. Dont say sayyy another leopard gecko coz there cool or whateverXD If the place i got mine ever has more super snows then ill probably get another one. Id just like to expand my collection^^. Id love to educate people around me that reptiles arent something to fear and kill rather are neat creatures that help out the enviorment and let kids experince it(in high school we had a pet ball python for a class pet and thats what got me over my fear! there such sweet snakes!) so nothing thats gonna bite to much and hurt.
thanks^^
No the sizes are definate. Im not sure how big they are other then that there 6 feet long(the glass) i was just saying the minum of what they are. Im pretty sure we can make it wider if need be since we just need the glass on the bottom for the under tank heats. That was just the rough gestimante.
Im thinking a african fat tailed gecko, or a crested gecko but im more leaning towards a pacman frog. Ofcourse id cut it smaller since it wouldnt need a HUGE tank like that and maybe get two. Any experince with them??! good idea bad? ive read they not need UVB lighting

reading all that, i'm sure you will do what is best for whatever pet, so i'm not going to mention tank demensions or anything :)

pacman frogs are really cool little guys, but like other amphibians if you want something to handle then they arent really the best. Their skin quickly absorbs any chemicals or oils that are on your skin and they could seriously harm him - they are more a hands off pet

AFTs are more or less the same as leopard geckos in temperament (not care - they need more humidity), but i dont think they look as pretty as leos

ocelot geckos could be an option? these guys are seriously cute (i got myself a baby one a few weeks back; http://www.flickr.com/photos/33469876@N0 2/4460265964/ ). They are really funny little things just full of character! They come in quite a few morphs, like leos and are a little more unusual. They are just as friendly though :)

sandfish skinks are truly awesome little lizards. i love my Merry and Pippin! Although they hide alot under the sand, when you do see them they are just great. They look really funny, and they are beautiful. http://sandfish.moonfruit.com/#/gallery/ 4537624816

i love my cresties too though! oh my gosh its so hard choosing new pets haha!
if you are into arboreal guys, then gargoyle geckos look really nice, and i think they are similar in care and temperament to the cresties, but i've never kept one

By Lodi News-Sentinel, Calif. Dec. 31–There were dozens of memorable moments, historic seasons and awe-inspiring performances in the 2010 local sports year. After careful consideration, the Lodi News-Sentinel sports staff chose the top-10 sports stories of the year. It wasnt an easy choice thanks to top-notch local athletes and talented teams in the area. We asked readers to weigh in on their vorite stories and vote for which one they thought should be No. 1 through an online poll on www.lodinews.com. The vote totals into consideration when the order of the top-10 sports stories of the year were chosen by the Lodi News-Sentinel sports staff. Around 225 readers participated in the poll and Tokay High swimmer Mary Griffith, who won two section swimming titles as a sophomore, earned the most votes with 25 percent. The Lodi High girls cross country team winning its seventh consecutive league championship led by state-qualifying speedster Cassidy Daley came in second place with 17 percent of the votes. Finishing in a tie for third place with 13 percent of the votes each were the Lodi High football team it to the section semifinals for the first time in 30 years and former Lodian Erica Davis becoming the first paraplegic woman to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. The Grape Bowl fiasco of 2010, where stadium was closed for the entire high school football regular season before a grand reopening for the Lodi-McNair playoff game, garnered 10 percent of the vote to take fifth place. The passing of legendary Lodi High coach Don Womble earned nine percent of the vote for sixth place, while former Elliot Christian softball star Kaila Shull helping lead the UCLA womens softball team to a NCAA championship earned four percent to take seventh place. Earning two percent of the vote apiece in a four-way tie for eighth place were the Liberty Ranch High School football team winning its first game in the Hawks inaugural varsity season, the Elliot Christian softball team winning its sixth section title in the last seven years,on the road with jason davis the Lodi High wrestling team winning its first league championship in 26 years and former Galt High star pitchers Zachary Phillips, Justin Souza and Ryan Mattheus earning invitations to big league training camps. 1. Erica Davis conquers Kilimanjaro Former Lodian Erica Davis made history on Jan. 31 as she became the first paraplegic woman to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The 19,340-foot expedition of the worlds tallest free-standing mountain, located in Tanzania, near the Kenyan boarder, took Davis seven days. Davis, a Lodi Academy graduate, climbed the mountains as part of group from the Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology Institute. The group decided to climb Kilimanjaro in an attempt to raise awareness for athletes with physical challenges so they can participate in sports they enjoy. He trek was also part of a documentary titled Through the Roof. Davis, who now lives in Carlsbad in Southern California, was equipped with a specialized wheel chair that uses technology similar to mountain bikes that enable her to shift into a lower gear and have more power climbing hills. An athlete all her life, Davis played tennis, volleyball and softball growing up. In 2006, she suffered a rare injury, a microscopic bleed in her spinal cord that left her paralyzed from the chest. The injury didnt slow her down at all. Davis is a competitive handbike racer. Shes competed in a dozen marathons. She plays wheelchair tennis and softball. Currently, Davis has her sights set on earning a spot on the 2012 United States Paralympic Team. 2. Historic season for Lodi Flames With a potent offense and a turnover-creating, sack-registering defense, the Lodi Flames returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2005 and advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals for the first time in 30 years. With Joey Armstrong at quarterback, Collin Rhoads reeling in passes and running backs Jordan Perkins, who is headed to Stanford to continue his football career next season, and Josh Mastro gaining yards on the ground, the 12th-seeded Flames upset No. 8 Turlock (24-7) and knocked off No. 13 McNair (48-16) before lling to eventual Division I section champion Pleasant Grove in the semifinals. 3. Mary Griffith makes a big splash Just a sophomore, Tokay Highs Mary Griffith swam her way to 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle titles at the Sac-Joaquin Section swimming meet. Herrington, a senior who won the 100 fly title in 2009, came in second place in both events, just behind her teammate. Both swimmers times were st enough to earn All-American honors in both events. Herrington was the ce of the Tokay program for years, breaking records, tallying All-American marks and wins left and right in earning a full-ride scholarship to UNLV. In her final meet, Griffith stepped up as the swimmer to fill her soon-to-be void and gives the Tigers reason to be excited about the next two years. 4. New-look Grape Bowl Delays in renovation construction to the Grape Bowl caused it to be closed down and forced the Lodi and Tokay football teams to play all of their regular season games on the road. The renovations to make the 1940s-era stadium compliant with Americans With Disabilities Act requirements were necessary to keep the Grape Bowl from being permanently shut down. The Tigers and Flames played their home games at fellow Lodi Unified School District schools McNair and Bear Creek in Stockton, causing a decrease in gate revenue for the schools athletic programs as well as shrink their cheering sections. The renovations were finally completed in time for Lodi to host McNair in a second-round playoff game, unveiling the cleaned-up stadium and its new all-weather turf field before an estimated crowd of 3,000 people. The Flames gave their ns plenty to cheer for with an offensive explosion and defensive shutdown of the Eagles with a 48-16 rout. 5. A legend passes The longtime Lodi coach died in November at age 84 after battling leukemia. While Wombles focus was in cross country, where he inspired and guided hundreds of runners to take up the sport over the years, also coached football, wrestling and track and field at Lodi. He also taught at the school. The local legend who touched all who knew him started teaching and coaching at Lodi High in 1970. Womble retired from teaching in 1988, but stayed on coaching until his death. He even inspired the nurses who helped him with all his blood transfusion and treatment to run their first 5Ks. In his playing days, Womble played on the championship football team at Stockton High in 1943 and then was elected to the Stockton Hall of Fame as a member of that squad. He was also elected to the Lodi Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000. 6. Going the distance The Lodi High cross country team ran away with its eighth consecutive San Joaquin Athletic Association championship by posting a perfect 10-0 season and dominating the league meet. Sophomore sensation Cassidy Daley placed first, leading a strong Lodi pack that placed six runners in the top 10 including the stest three. Lodi took fourth in the team standings at the Division Sac-Joaquin Sub-Section to qualify for the Masters meet as a squad. Daley placed fourth at Masters, meriting an invitation to her second CIF State Cross Country Championship in as many tries. Running through the wind and rain in Fresno, Daley placed 42nd out of the states top 190 runners with a time of 18 minutes, 38 seconds. In the spring, Daley returned to run in another state meet by qualifying for the CIF track and field championships in the 3,200-meter run. Daley showed her stellar stamina by clocking a 10:56.53 mark to take second in the 3,200 at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters meet. She then placed 19th at the state meet with a time of 11:06.47. Also showing a talent for distance running was Galt High senior Jason Coupe, who closed out his award-winning prep running career by winning the 800-meter run at the Masters meet with a time of 1:52.81 to advance to the advance to state. Coupe, noted by Galt head track and field/cross country coach Nate Woods as the best runner to come out of Galt High, went to finish 10th at the state meet, missing out on qualifying for the finals by a tenth of a second with a 1:52.87 mark. 7. Champs at last It took a second glance at the scoring totals, but the Flames won the San Joaquin Athletic Association championship for the first time since 1984. Due to a scoring error, it was initially declared that Lincoln won the crown. The gaff was corrected and Lodi took the crown led by Jacob Holley, the Flames lone SJAA individual champion. Lodi then put the brakes on another drought by defeating Tokay in a dual meet to start off the 2010-11 season, snapping a 26-year winless skid against the Tigers. 8. Elliot Eagles soar With a hot-hitting, strong defensive team anchored by two dominant pitchers, the Elliot Christian softball team won its third consecutive Division VII Sac-Joaquin Section title. Elliot was led by junior pitcher Emily Buhrkuhl, who hurled seven no-hitters and one perfect game. She went 16-4 with a 0.22 ERA in 125 innings of work. She registered 268 strikeouts compared to giving up only four walks. Sophomore pitcher Katie Kishi served as the No. 2 pitcher, going 7-1 with a 0.78 ERA and 61 strikeouts with only five walks. The Eagles were led offensively and in the field by shortstop Erica Musgrave. Musgrave hit .486, scored 46 runs, drove home 22 runs, stole 22 bases and made numerous highlight-reel plays in the field. 9. Victory for Liberty Ranch Hawks Playing their first varsity football season in Liberty Ranchs second year of existence as the new high school in Galt, the Hawks recorded their first victory in the programs history with a 35-8 win over Mira Loma. With only one year of junior varsity action under their belts from the 2009 season, the Hawks played without seniors or players with any varsity experience. John Wiernicki led Liberty Ranch with 276 yards rushing on 22 carries for four touchdowns, while John Kendall added another 113 yards on the ground in the win. On defense, the Hawks also had two interceptions. The Hawks finished the season with a 1-9 record, but laid the foundation for the program to build on. 10. Brothers in arms Former Galt High star pitchers Zachary Phillips, Ryan Mattheus and Justin Souza all earned invitations to Major League Baseball spring training camps with their respective teams. Phillips, who plays in the Texas Rangers organization, went to the Rangers camp before spending the season with Double-A Frisco. Souza, who plays in the Oakland Athletics system, went to the As camp before spending the season with Double-A Midland. Mattheus, who missed most of last season after bouncing back from Tommy John surgery, recently signed a one-year contract with the Washington Nationals that came with a spot on the 40-man roster and an invitation to spring training. —– To see more of the News-Sentinel or to subscribe to the news, go to abcd.lodinews.com.
