Answer if you are positively sure!
with your grades, you should be, so yes im pretty sure you will be. did you get good scores on your state wides??
.
Does any GIRL who goes to Tottenville and is on the tennis team tell me how hard is it to make the tennis team and what are the tryouts like?
i dont go to tottenville, i go to stuy, and im trying out for the tennis team next wk =]
cant tell u exactly how hard its gonna be, but look at this site : http://psal.org/psalsports/team/psal_tea mprofile.asp?cschool=31509&csport=02 4#
you can see all the ppl they accept (they do accept A LOT ppl compared to a normal hs team, cuz at stuy its only 15 girls) and search up the 1st singles/ 2nd singles player (on the tottenville team) on google, to see what tourneys they played in, and see if they are ranked, etc
if they are really good, then it might be harder to make the team (or at least get the chance to play some matches)
tryouts should all be the same for high schools, at stuy its 1st round against the wall, 2nd round on the court (doing forehand/backhand drills, volleys, serves, etc)
FOR A FRESHMAN: what is the science and math institute like? is it separate from the zoned program? what can freshman expect as soon as they step inside the school? and dont send the T.H.S Freshman guide from their newspaper website because i already read that.
hi !
i'm going to be a junior tomorrow & i am in the science and math institute. yes, for the most part, it is separate from the zoned program. there are a few exceptions, however. you may have gym as well as lunch with the zoned program. it's completely mixed. math and spanish are honor classes, on the other hand. you may have these classes with honor zoned students, which isn't half bad. the rest of your classes (chemistry, biology, english, and global history) are strictly with institute students.
as soon as you step into the building, you should through the A wing entrance as the teachers guided you on the day of the freshman orientation. you step in & you go to the designated room number you were given on the orientation day. if you lost the number, they may have a list with all the numbers laid out when you walk in. you go to that room & a teacher will hand out each person's ID card, program card, and possibly a bus pass. she will go over some rules & what is expected of you & stuff like that. at about 8:15 a bell will sound & you will go to your period 2 class (probably your bio class)
you'll be fine. no one is going to hurt you in any way. the teachers are generally nice & will help you if you ask for help.
hope i helped. lol :]
A prom dress. This is a very dressy affair.
honestly i played high school basketball in NYC...
i also played st. patricks....you have a slim chance to beat them..
As long as your team knows the both team are equal when the games start you should do well.
Most high school players get scared of the schools name. They lace their shoes up the same way you do ....play your game and beat thos 21 year old high school students...
St. patricks....last notable player that i knew of was Corey fisher...google him damn ..........that shit is pure talent...def a future NBA he plays for NOVA now i think

THE HEALERS
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - ALL SHORES - It was about 35 years ago that Evelyn Young of Meiers Corners began moving on with the adult part of her life – marrying, leaving her home in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn and finally earning a registered nursing degree at St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Manhattan.
Pregnant with her first child, Peter, now 33 and an attorney, she worked briefly at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, then did a short stint at Long Island City Hospital before putting her career on hold to be a fulltime mom.
Peter was joined by Jennifer, a financial analyst, now 27, and Christine, now 24, who is involved in media strategies and Web design these days. Ms. Young assumed the role of devoted parent, happily getting involved in her children's schools, dancing lessons, piano lessons and karate lessons.
"I wanted to raise my children," she said. "I did the mommy thing and loved it."
