Virtual School?

Does anyone know of any cheap/free virtual schools that are either in Missouri or that I will be able to get credits at my school from. I'm not sure if that last part made any sense...I'm currently about to enter ninth grade in Missouri, and my school is really bad about giving students credit for courses taken out of school.

Below is the link for virtual school information in the state of Missouri:

I hope this is helpful.

How does virtual school work?

Virtual school?

I'd like to take World History Honors and get credit for it through a virtual school. Any virtual schools offered to students in North Carolina and have a tuition of $200 or less or no tuition at all?
The North Carolina Virutal Public School does not offer World History Honors.

Did you look at the north carolina virtual public school, not sure if they have what your looking for but maybe a place to start. http://www.ncvps.org/index.html

virtual school.?

who has taken virtual school?

i need to take it this summer and i was just wondering a few things.....
-can you fail virtual school?
-is it easier or harder then normal school?
-and its all online, right?

You can definitely fail virtual school, but it is really hard to because the work is really easy. You have to turn in a minimal number of assignments every week, but you can work ahead to finish earlier. It is online, so you have to make sure that you have a computer and internet.
Hope this helps! :)

I am thinking about enrolling my child in a virtual school that uses the k12 curriculum. Is it any good?

My daughter is very bright and is miserable attending traditional school. She is to be tested for gifted, but our district only provides gifted services once a week. Is a virtual school a good alternative?
She is in 1st grade.

In homeschool world K12 is considered average at best. There are far better programs that are more challenging. K12 and Connections Academy are free in some areas. If you are looking for something with more prestige look into these programs:

You didn't mention what grade so it is more difficult to answer your question.

How do credits work for high school virtual-school students?

Just wondering....

OH! Virtual- school is like homeschooling, but everything is done on the computer. I appreciate all of the answers and God bless!

You mean OHVA? You would get credits for the charter school. If the laws for charter schools are the same for you as for where I live, then those credits are the equivalent to public school credits and you could switch to a public school with no problem.

Most virtual school programs are public or charter schools online. You are registered as a public/charter school student, not a homeschooler.

Carlos will be among the first graduates of Val Verde Academy, a “ virtual school ,” which is housed in a former elementary school in Moreno Valley. It has become a so-called “long-distance” school where students primarily interact via computer rather than directly with the teacher.

Faced with declining enrollment, the Val Verde Unified School District agreed to shutter Red Maple Elementary School a year ago and disperse its 700 students among other campuses. The district serves 19,600 students in parts of Perris, Moreno Valley and unincorporated areas of Riverside County.

Val Verde Academy opened this past August with 115 students in grades 9-12, two teachers and one counselor. The goal is to eventually expand the program to all grades, according to acting Assistant Principal Sandy Sanford.
